Anyone who knows Weston, KNOWS how he loves Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. He has seen it a million times. Well, I know how he has secretly dreamed of cutting down his own christmas tree and so we decided to give it a shot this year. A few Saturday's ago we drove about 40 miles north of Kingwood up to a little place called Mill Hollow to (for the first time ever) cut down this year's Christmas tree. It was so fun! The best part was watching little Warren's face. He just thought it was the coolest thing ever that we were cutting down the tree ourselves. He was infected with perma-grin the entire time. Not to mention the constant giggles and coo's. After you drag it out, for five bucks they have a professional "tree shaker" that shakes all the dead pine needles (and bugs) out of the tree and then they net it and load it onto your car. If you ask Warren about it now he will tell you "we cut it down with a saw and then we shook out all the crumbs."

Afterwards, we enjoyed a hayride around the forest, bon fire and (Warren's fav) the tire roll down the hill. It was such a nice way to kick of the Christmas season.

I love that movie. Weston and Warren look so great out there in the outdoors chopping down trees. I didn't know that there are places that look like that in Texas. Maybe it is not as bad as I think. Nice Christmas tree. I would love to get a real one but I like to put my tree up right after Halloween and I don't think a real one would last that long.
Wow, what fun! Where are the pics of you, though? :)
I don't know about you Emily, but I am sick of watching The Grinch and Christmas Vacation. What is with these guys?
k- Houston is actually a very pretty place. Where we live (Kingwood) is actually is dense forest (literally), PLUS you get all the tropicals, etc. One downside is...well you saw what Weston was wearing in December. Something doesnt seem quite right without snow at Christmas. Otherwise, we love it.
p- actually, I am not a fan of putting pics of me up but this time I do have a good excuse....the battery died on the camera. I was a little miffed because I wanted to get pics of the other activities. Oh well. Oh yea...and sorry I didn't ever do the tagged thing...I thought it was so cute but it slipped away from me. School has been crazy this semester. ;)
N- Yea, well wait until you have Henry...Warren has watched grinch about 100 times already this season. I hate to be the one to tell you but the "manly" hall traditions just get passed from generation to generation. At least in the new house the TV will be upstairs! ;)
how fun!!!!
Looks like a Texas Christmas! I'm excited to see you in a few weeks.
By the way, there is something wrong with cutting down your tree in shorts and a t-shirt!
