Mi casa es su casa...

Well, I haven't been very good at keeping the updates about our house drama's BUT..... it all started last October when we decided and announced that we were building a house and we have been/were. Well, to make a LONG story short, the builders were lame and took FOREVER to even start construction on our house. They originally told us it would be done March or April '08. Well, they didn't even break ground until April. Our lease on our house we are renting was up in June and our landlord was expecting another year lease to be signed, etc. There is a whole saga in between but we have been really prayerful about it and we decided earlier last month that we would start looking at existing homes and we did. Shortly thereafter, we found this house and we put our first offer in a few weeks ago. It is owned by an oil company and is currently empty, due to an employee relocate. We put in the initial offer a few weeks ago and after much patience with corporate we finally came to an agreement and received a signed contract last Thursday! The process has been painstakingly slow and stressful. The initial offer and counter offers had to be reviewed by at least five (picky) people, etc. (deep sigh...) We are very excited to FINALLY be able to have a place of our own. We are supposed close and move the end of this month. Just a few weeks before the baby will be born! That will be a little tricky to pull off with this belly and Weston's work/travel schedule but I'm sure it will all come together in the next 3 weeks right!? Here are some pictures.
We will have a mighty comfy guest bedroom. All friends and (most) family welcome!! ;) I was trying to get a shot of some of the trees in our yard. We have a ton of huge pine & oak in the front and 6-7 huge oak in the back. Our entire backyard is shaded at all times.
Its barely in the picture but the garage is to the right, detached with a covered breezeway from the back door.
The Front entryway.

We will never turn down help...although he does have all that studying to do. Maybe you will just have to help him by coming to visit us (with Hank of course) while he is studying. We wouldn't want you to be a distraction to him. ;) You only get to see the guest "area" once you come for a visit. ;)

Wowee, you are going to have your own Texas estate, aren't ya? That's a gorgeous home--congratulations!! I feel your pain, girl. We have 4 days until our big move and the 100+ heat is not my friend. You probably already are at it, but I recommend doing some every day because you are NOT going to want to do much at the end.

And maybe your due date getting pushed back a couple of weeks was a blessing in disguise. You may need the time to get settled.

Oh my word, Emily! It's gorgeous! Good to know part of the story now, too.

So my big question is: is it in your current ward boundaries?

GOOD LUCK with the packing and moving.

s- Your house is looking amazing and talk about hard work! How is the furniture painting coming along?
p- Yes, packing is a serious pain...although I think the biggest pain is collecting the boxes (with Warren) in tow. My due date changing did sort of end up as a blessing because of this. Not only are we moving but we are also trying to get carpet laid and new wood installed before the baby comes! How is that for ambitious!? ;) I am afraid Weston's first week off from work will be spent more unpacking and moving furniture than with me and the babe. Looks like its going to be another c-section and I am currently scheduled on the 15th of Aug unless something changes between now and then. I had to laugh about the "Texas estate" because everyone here has a house like this, so it just seems normal to me. But that is one of the benefits of living in TX...real estate is really affordable. I would probably pass out to know what the price was on your beautiful house in Cali. ;)
a- You are lucky you will be in Utah because if not I would totally expect you down here girl. Lets plan something after you get back. And YES my darling, it is in our current ward!
mm- KW1 or bust! We are still in!

I love the house, and even though I'm sad you're not right down the street to borrow eggs, I'm glad you got the right house!!! It really is beautiful! So happy for you guys.

Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!! I am so happy for you!!! I can't remember what the other house looked like but your new one is amazing! Tell my why I live in the bay area again??? Well, I hope all goes well with your move. I am so sorry it is at the end of your pregnancy. I wish JR was there to help, I don't think I could do much either ;) Well, I can't wait to see what you do to your house and I am excited for little Ben to arrive. Then it is my turn.
Congrats again
